Sponsor a place

Great tutoring should not be limited by what a family can afford.

At Home Learner, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to feel confident in their learning and fulfil their potential. But for some families, the cost of private tutoring is simply out of reach.

Sponsor a place changes that.

We invite businesses and individuals to fund tutoring places for children who would benefit from additional academic support but whose families cannot reasonably afford it.

One sponsorship. Real lessons. A real opportunity.

£500 - 10 lessons

£1,000 - 20 lessons

£1,500 - 30 lessons

An investment in a child's future

Tutoring can be about much more than grades.

It can be the moment a child finally understands something they've been struggling with.

It can be the confidence to put their hand up in class.

It can be the reassurance that they're capable of more than they thought.

And sometimes, it can be the difference between falling further behind and getting back on track.

Your sponsorship gives a child time, attention and expert support when they need it most.

Your sponsorship, made tangible

We wanted to make the impact of sponsorship simple to understand.

How Sponsor a Place works

1. You provide the funding

Choose a sponsorship level or speak to us about creating a bespoke contribution.

Your sponsorship funds Home Learner tutoring places for children who need financial support.

2. A family applies

Parents or carers complete a confidential application explaining their circumstances and the support their child needs. We consider both financial need and educational need when allocating sponsored places.

3. Home Learner selects the place

We allocate available funding to children who we believe would benefit most from the opportunity.

Sponsors do not select individual children or have direct contact with families. This protects everyone's privacy and dignity.

4. The tutoring begins

The child receives an agreed programme of one-to-one Home Learner lessons, funded by the sponsorship.

5. You see your impact

Sponsors can receive an update explaining what their support has made possible, while protecting the child's identity and personal information.

For businesses that want to make a difference

Your business can do more than simply support a good cause. It can help create educational opportunity.

Sponsor a place gives businesses a straightforward way to make a meaningful contribution to the communities they serve, with a clear connection between the money they provide and the opportunity it creates.

Whether you're a local independent business, a growing company or a larger organisation, your support can help a child access something that would otherwise be unavailable to them.

As a Home Learner sponsor, your business can receive:

Website recognition
With your permission, we'll recognise your business as a Home Learner sponsor.

A digital sponsor badge
Something you can proudly display on your own website or social channels.

An impact update
We'll let you know what your sponsorship has helped make possible.

A genuine community story
A tangible example of your business investing in educational opportunity.

Become a sponsor

£500 can provide 10 lessons.

£1,000 can provide 20 lessons.

£1,500 can provide 30 lessons.

And every lesson represents something more important than a number: it's dedicated time with a tutor.
A chance to understand.
A chance to improve.
A chance to believe, “I can do this.”

Sponsor a Place

We're starting with businesses close to home

Home Learner is proud to be building this initiative within the community.

We're particularly interested in hearing from local businesses that want to make a visible, meaningful contribution to the educational opportunities available to children in their area.

But sponsorship isn't restricted to local businesses.

Any business or individual who shares our belief in accessible education is welcome to support the programme.

Could your child benefit?

If private tutoring isn't currently affordable for your family, you may be able to apply for a sponsored place.

Our application process is designed to be straightforward and respectful. We ask families to provide enough information for us to understand their circumstances and assess eligibility, while keeping personal information confidential.

Places are limited and depend on the level of sponsorship available.

Frequently asked questions

Who can sponsor a place?

Any business or individual can support the programme. We're particularly keen to hear from businesses that want to make educational opportunity part of their community engagement.

Does the sponsor choose the child?

No. Sponsored places are allocated by Home Learner according to our eligibility criteria. This protects the privacy and dignity of participating families.

How do families qualify?

We consider a combination of financial circumstances and educational need. Families complete a confidential application and may be asked for supporting information where appropriate.

Does the sponsorship have to cover a whole programme?

Our standard sponsorship levels are designed around 10, 20 or 30 lessons, but we're happy to discuss different contributions or longer-term arrangements.

Can a business sponsor more than one place?

Absolutely.

A business could, for example, fund £3,000 and provide 60 lessons across multiple sponsored places.

We'd be happy to discuss an ongoing partnership.

Will we know which child we've helped?

We won't share identifying information about children or their families.

However, sponsors can receive an anonymised impact update explaining what their support has made possible.

Can businesses use their sponsorship as a tax deduction?

The tax treatment of sponsorship can depend on the specific arrangement and circumstances. Businesses should seek their own professional tax advice.

Education should open doors.

Help us open one for a child.

A Home Learner sponsored place isn't simply a series of tutoring sessions.

It's an opportunity.

An opportunity to catch up.
To build confidence.
To discover what's possible.

And it starts with someone deciding to help.
