Lessons & Approach
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are conducted in your home, providing a calm, familiar environment where your child can focus and feel at ease.
How are sessions structured?
Each session is thoughtfully planned and tailored to your child’s individual needs, school curriculum and academic goals. Sessions are designed not only to improve academic outcomes, but to develop confidence, independence, and a genuine understanding of the key skills and concepts.
What subjects do you specialise in?
Specialist support is offered in core subjects including Reading (phonics), English & Maths, with a focus on primary aged children. Other subjects can also be supported by request.
How long are sessions?
Standard sessions are one hour, allowing for focused, high-impact learning. Longer sessions can be arranged where appropriate.
Do you provide homework or revision support?
Targeted homework and revision strategies can be provided to reinforce progress between sessions, particularly in preparation for end of year tests, if requested.
Do you support children with additional needs? (Autism, ADHD, PDA, Learning Delay)
Having worked with children with additional needs for many years, all children can be supported by me through tutoring sessions.
If your child has an EHCP or paperwork you wish to share, please make these available during the initial consultation discussion.
Can you support families outside of the UK?
Yes! Families living in Dubai, Singapore and Hong Kong for example work well with the timezone difference.
With remote working utilised more in society, online learning is made possible for all families.
Results & Outcomes
What results can we expect?
While every child is different, many parents see noticeable improvements in confidence, engagement, and academic performance within a relatively short period. The focus is on building strong foundations for long-term success.
Do you support exam preparation (e.g. Phonics Screening Test, SATS, 11+ & GCSEs)?
Yes. Structured support is available, including test techniques, past paper practice, and targeted revision plans.
Fees & Booking
What are your fees?
Tuition is offered at £50 per hour.
This reflects a highly personalised, in-home service tailored to each student’s individual needs.
How do we book lessons?
Booking is simple, please get in touch via the Contact page to discuss your requirements.
A suitable time will then be arranged for an initial consultation and assessment.
How often should sessions take place?
Weekly sessions are recommended for consistent progress, though frequency can be adjusted depending on your child’s needs and goals.
Policies
What is your cancellation policy?
At least 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling, as the time has been reserved exclusively for your child.
This allows the time to be offered to other families.
If notice is given with less than 24 hours notice, the session will still be charged.
Trust & Professionalism
Are you qualified and experienced?
Yes. I have an academic background of 16 years (and counting!) supporting children across a range of abilities, backgrounds and need in schools around Surrey, as well as 1:1.
Do you have a DBS check?
Yes, a current DBS check is in place, providing reassurance and peace of mind for families.
Should parents / carers be present in the home during lessons?
Parents / carers should be in the home for the duration, however they are not required to be in the session.
Getting Started
How quickly can we begin?
